PP foreign trade "facing the difficulties" under multiple challenges?
In December, in the face of multiple risks and challenges such as sluggish external demand and rising geopolitical risks, China's PP foreign trade market moved forward under pressure, although the final import and export data increased one negative, but the achievements are still not easy. According to the General Administration of Customs announced: PP total imports of 374,300 tons, an increase of 3.23%, a decrease of 14.35%; The total export volume was 92,300 tons, a decrease of 24.53% from the previous quarter and an increase of 77.5% year-on-year.
I. Import
Macroeconomic stability economic policy force, superimposed price factors, driven marginal improvement in demand, PP import growth continued to rebound. PP imports of primary shape in the month were 236,500 tons, an increase of 4% month-on-month and a decrease of 17.51% year-on-year; The import volume of ethylene-propylene polymer was 125,300 tons, an increase of 2.96% from the previous quarter and a decrease of 7.25% from the previous year. The import of other primary shapes of propylene copolymer was 12,500 tons, a decrease of 7.41% from the previous quarter and 17.76% from the same period last year.
The main source countries of imports in December were the same as the previous month, and the combined imports of the top 10 countries were 348,000 tons, an increase of 3.33% from the previous month, accounting for about 92.97% of the total imports. Among them, South Korea is still the largest source of PP imports, imports in the month of 71,800 tons, an increase of 5.12%, the proportion rose to 19.18%. The United Arab Emirates rose to the second, imports to China was 63,300 tons, an increase of 3.26%, accounting for 16.91% of the total imports; Singapore fell to third place, with imports of 60,000 tons in the month, an increase of 10.7% from the previous month, accounting for 16.03 of the total imports.
As the most important trade mode of general trade, the month's imports increased by 4.93% to 261,700 tons, accounting for 69.92% of the total imports; Followed by 5.83 million tons of imported material processing trade, accounting for 15.58%. The third is that the logistics goods in the special supervision area of the customs have fallen, which has decreased by 12.7% from the previous quarter, and the proportion has dropped from 14.12 to 11.94%.

The demand of developed countries such as Europe and the United States has weakened, and the friction between China and the United States has continued to suppress exports, which has been affected by the high base effect in the same period last year, and the export data in December has declined significantly. In the same month, the export volume of PP in primary shape was 80,700 tons, a decrease of 23.43% from the previous month and an increase of 80.13%. The export volume of ethylene propylene polymer was 0.88 million tons, a decrease of 37.14% from the previous quarter and an increase of 69.23%. The export volume of other primary shapes of propylene copolymers was 0.2,800 tons, a decrease of 3.45% from the previous quarter and an increase of 40% year-on-year.
From the perspective of major exporting countries, the export volume in December has declined to varying degrees, and the exports of the top ten major countries have decreased by 20,400 tons from the previous month. Among them, Vietnam, the first export object of China, the export volume of the month decreased by 20.86% to 12,900 tons, while the proportion rose to the second Brazil, a decrease of 5.23% to 0.72 million tons, Indonesia slipped to the third, the decrease was particularly obvious, a decrease of 32.04% to 0.7 million tons.
General trade as the most important mode of trade, exports in December fell sharply to 77,000 tons, a decrease of 25.46% from the previous month, accounting for 84.46 to 83.43%; Followed by the customs special supervision area logistics goods, the export volume of the month decreased 36.44% to 75 million tons, the third is the import processing trade, slightly increased to 53 million tons. The rest, such as incoming processing trade, border small trade and inbound and outbound goods in bonded supervision places, are generally not much in export volume.
